Nowadays, simulations performed in the industry, such as the pipe flow in a solar receiver, are carried out by commercial programs that do not allow for many modifications as they come predetermined. Here lies a problem, as these simulations often entail a very high computational cost. In this work, we have developed a reduce order model (ROM) for an industrial problem using an open-source software, FreeFem++, derived from a complete full order model (FOM) through the commercial software Ansys Fluent.
