Finite volume method with diffusion control parameter for the compressible Navier-Stokes equation: Application to supersonic flow over a flat plate.

To solve flow problems associated with the Navier-Stokes equations, we propose to use a finite volume method with a diffusion control parameter. Our approach is based on the approximation of the convective part using a finite volume characteristics method, and for the diffusion part, we use the diamond scheme. The numerical results showed the ability of our method to reduce numerical diffusion and capture the shock and the boundary layer.
