Siconos, An Open Source Library For Nonsmooth Mechanical Systems Involving Contact, Impact, Friction, Plasticity And Fracture.

Siconos is an open-source scientific software package for modelling and simulation of non-smooth dynamical systems (Acary and Brogliato, 2008) in C++ and Python, developed since 2005 mainly in Inria TRIPOP team. Our main applications are mechanical systems (rigid or solid) with unilateral contact and Coulomb friction and impact (nonsmooth mechanics, contact dynamics, multibody systems dynamics or granular materials). Other constitutive models are being developed to model plasticity, damage, cohesive zones.
