Advancements in EHD-Printing Simulation within OpenFOAM

This study aims to enhance the simulation accuracy of electrohydrodynamic (EHD) problems in OpenFOAM, specifically addressing numerically induced charge leakage currents. These leakages are particularly pronounced in two-phase systems involving one conductive and one dielectric phase, with amplified effects in small-scale scenarios and surfacetension-dominated processes. Consequently, these challenges are prevalent in the numerical simulation of EHD printing and must be eliminated or sufficiently reduced.
