An image informed phase field model for tumor growth incorporating tissue elasticity

In this talk I will present an image informed phase field model for tumor growth which incorporates the elastic feedback of the brain tissues, based on a recent theoretical framework and characterized by an hyperelastic energy density describing the mechanical behavior of soft brain tissues and coupled with the phase field variable. I will also present numerical simulations on patient-specific test cases, providing evidences of the importance to consider the elastic feedback of brain tissues to better forecast the tumor evolution.
